38 weeks: 10th Prenatal Checkup

As usual, for every checkup the doctor will ask whether I have any discomfort, blah blah.

Was told that I have no weight gain. So, I'm still 62kg with total weight gain of 14kg!!!  :) However, doctor commented that if by next week still no weight gain will need to induce. Hmmm...

Anyway, asked the doctor how heavy the baby is~ Doctor measured and said baby is 2.8kg! Ok la. Not too heavy/ big I think?! :P

Oh ya.. Also did a baby heartbeat scan today...  Because I was unsure of how many movements baby has each day when doctor asked about it *opps*

37 weeks: 9th Prenatal Checkup

Currently at 37 weeks, the baby is considered full term, and is ready and safe to pop anytime :)
So... Waiting game now... :P

Check-up was super fast. Just normal scanning of baby.

Anyway, gained 2kg since the last check up. Currently 62kg!! Total weight gain as of now is 14kg..

OMG! I'm feeling so fat and heavy now! Can't wait for baby to come our soon as I'm afraid that the longer the baby stays in my tummy, the bigger he will grow bigger, and I will have a difficult labor delivery.

Oh ya, I have also gotten the admission letter to the hospital from the doctor today.

 

Hmm. Now that baby's arrival is nearing, I'm having mixed feeling.. Both excited and nervous. Excited to meet the baby and nervous about labor and delivery. :/

 

Well~ It's time for me to start packing my hospital bag and wash all baby clothes and stuff :)

35 weeks: 8th Prenatal Checkup

Today's checkup was like usual. Except that doctor dolly explained to us about signs of labour, etc.

Plus, I also stayed on for another 20 mins to do a baby's heartbeat scan.

Doctor commented baby is still head down and is weighing about 2kg plus. :)

I gained another 1kg. Meaning I'm now 60kg. Total weight gain of 12kg!

32 weeks: 7th Prenatal Checkup

Today, went alone to see Doc Dolly Wee as hubby needed to be at office.

Anyway, checkup was pretty normal. Doctor commented that baby's head has already turned down! So means I can have natural birth. However, doctor also commented that baby's head is alittle big but can still try natural birth. Doctor also commented baby has big nose~ Well, shall see when baby's out. :D

I gained another 3kg~ Total weight gain is 11kg as of now! Now I'm weighing at 59kg!!

Here's my baby bump update:

28 weeks: 6th Prenatal Checkup

Finally I'm now in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy which is 7 months :)

Was supposed to see the doctor today. However, went to see doctor earlier on 20 Nov 2013 instead as something happened.

Here is what happened:

On the 19 Nov 2013, upon returning home at around 7pm, I found some pink spotting on my panty liner. And when I wipe, there was also pink stain on the tissue. I panicked and call up hubby immediately. He told me to call up Mount E and seek for advise.

The doctor advised me to head down to the hospital immediately if I am still experiencing spotting after 1 hour. At around 7.30pm, hubby returned home. I was still having spotting and hubby decided that we should just head down to hospital to find out what's wrong instead of waiting and worrying.

At about 8.15pm, we reached Mount E and I was taken to the delivery suite immediately. I was asked to changed, and this was when I saw the pink spotting becoming bright red spotting. It was scary!

Anyway, I was strapped on for the next 1 hour or so to monitor baby's heartbeat. At around 10pm, the "back-up" doctor (Dr. Dolly was away and only back the next day) reached and examine me. I was told by the doctor that there wasn't any blood coming from my vagina or any open cut outside. She wasn't sure where the spotting came from. However, she said that as long as I was not having pain or contractions, and that baby was constantly active and moving, I am fine to leave the hospital.

The doctor also told me to visit Dr. Dolly Wee the next day for a check-up again.  So ya, that's about it. What a scary experience.

So the next day at 11am, paid a visit at Dr. Dolly's and told her the whole incident. She was like not surprised at all and commented that we youngsters see a little blood get so "excited", etc. Haha! She assured us that it's not unusual to see some spotting at this stage of pregnancy and long as I'm not having pain and contractions every 10 mins. Then, we proceeded to do an ultrasound. Doctor measured the baby and said that baby is in good size at 28-30 weeks :) She also checked my vagina and said there's no blood too. Hmm..

Anyway, since both doctors reassured me that baby is fine than I gladly accept it, although the spotting part is a little disturbing :P

Enough of stories, here is my baby bump update:

My next appointment is in 3 weeks time. Till then :)

24 weeks: 5th Prenatal Checkup

The check-up was pretty fast and nothing much :P

I have gained 2kg since the last check-up. 53.9kg as of now.  Doctor commented that my weight gain is not too bad, and that perhaps its due to water retention thus my 3kg weight gain the previous month.

So.....  Means that no big baby, no risk of gestational diabetics  :D

I think my baby bump is so so much bigger as compared to last month :P

Anyway, the nurse told me that I got to decide on which hospital to deliver. Either Mount. Alvernia or Mount. Elizabeth. Hmm...  Tough decision.

11 weeks: 2nd Prenatal Checkup

Our 2nd checkup was pretty fast.

Doctor Dolly asked me about my nauseous level, blah blah.. And she commented that I gained a lot of weight :/ About 1.5kg. Must be all the junk food I ate..

Anyway, proceed with the scanning. Photo here:

During the scan:

• Baby is currently 11 weeks and 1 day old.
• Baby has grown from 7.7mm to 44.6mm. WOW
• Managed to see baby's hands, legs. So cute. Haha
• Managed to see baby moving. But for awhile only.
• Baby's neck is about 1.5cm which has low risk for down syndrome.

After the scan:

• Doctor Dolly prescribed more vitamins for me. Calcium, Fish Oil, Iron and more Folic Acid

My next appointment will be on 21 August 2013, 11 am :)

6 weeks: First Prenatal Checkup

So, today went for my first prenatal check-up with my fiancé's company at Dr Dolly Wee clinic, Mt.E.

Didn't know that I have to come with full bladder, hence needed to do the scan via vagina.

So here is the photo of the scan outcome:



Was quite excited/relieved to see the baby finally :D

During the scan:

• Doctor said there is an egg yolk, and baby in in the black hole as shown in photo.
• Baby is currently 6 weeks and 6 days.
• Baby is only 7.7mm
• Managed to hear the heartbeat, which was so cute to hear it. Haha.
• Expected due date is on 6 February 2014.

After the scan:

• Clarified some stuff with doctor such as my Thalassaemia history as I am a carrier.  My fiancé was told to go for the blood test to see if he is also a carrier of Thalassaemia. If he also has Thalassaemia, then our baby has high chance of being a Thalassaemia Major which is bad, as that baby won't be able to live for long(approx. up to 10 years of age). If my fiancé is tested negative, means baby has a 50% chance of getting Thalassaemia Minor from me, which is nothing much of an issue to baby's health and growth.
• Doctor said my ovulation date is late by a week based from my last period. Hence, baby is only 6 weeks 6 days instead of 7 weeks 6 days. Hmm...
• Anyway, doctor said that upon hearing baby's heartbeat, means only 5% chance of getting miscarriage :) Was quite relieved upon hearing this :D
• However, doctor also warned me to not take any caffeine stuff such as, coffee, tea, coke, chocolate, etc, as it will increase the risk of being miscarriage! So I got to stop all these!! Was still drinking coke and eating chocolate all these while :/
• Doctor also said I can still go/recommended for some simple exercise which is good for baby.
• Doctor also said the expected weight gain for me is 1kg a month :0 (Currently:48kg)
• Was prescribed with folic acid 5mg and Bcomplex.

So ya. That's about it.

Dr Dolly Wee

Today, finally fixed an prenatal appointment with Dr Dolly Wee from Mount E. 

Will be seeing her for the first time on 19 June 2013 at 11am :D

Dr Dolly Wee is highly recommended by two elder sisters of my fiancé. His first elder sister has two sons and was delivered by Dr Dolly Wee. Subsequently, his first elder sister recommended to the second sister, who then had three daughters delivered by Dr Dolly Wee too!

Currently, the second sister is expecting with her fourth and is still seeing Dr Dolly Wee~ 

Wow!! She must be good! However, heard that her charges are not cheap and only accept cash payment.

Nonetheless, Can't wait for my first appointment with Dr Dolly Wee! :P
