Baby 2: Birth Story

Last picture of my huge baby bump at 39 weeks:

1 Oct:

8.30pm: Saw the bloody discharge/ mucus plug when when going to the toilet
8.30pm to 10pm: As there was no contractions, decided to not go to the hospital immediately.
10pm to 12am: Contractions were felt during these period and getting stronger.

2 Oct:

1.15am: Decided to go to the hospital. Informed MIL about it and left our son who was sleeping with her.
2am: Reached hospital and was surprised when the midwife told me that I was already 5cm dilated.
2.40am: Opted for epidural after much thought. Decided to not “suffer”.
3.53am: Baby is born!! *super fast* Had an hour of skin to skin bonding with baby. She’s so adorable!
~5am: Pushed to ward.
7.30am:Baby was brought to me for feeding (didn’t feed as baby not interested)
8am: Epidural wear off. Started feeling pain in abdominal area and you know where.

2 nights stay at the hospital

Was pleasantly surprised that the pain in my you know where was not as bad. Managed to pee on first try as instructed by the nurse.

Even managed to poo! Lol.

When Doc Dolly came on second visit to check on me she was also surprised. She commented that I must be much more relaxed this time round :)

Baby2: 35/36 weeks pregnant (7 Sept 2019)

I’ve been lazy updating my pregnancy progress for baby2 :/

So.. I’m currently into my 36 weeks! Around 3 more weeks to go!
My weight now is 65.6kg while the baby weights 2.4kg!!
Not sure if the baby is considered big.

Anyway, results from last visit’s fungal test via vaginal shows that I had fungal culture! Was given tablet to insert into my vaginal to treat it before birth of the baby. Doc said it’s not threatening but baby might be infected and get thrust around mouth during long labor.

Also gotten my admission letter from the clinic.

Next doc visit in 2 weeks time.

Baby 2: 25 weeks

Opps..

Didn’t update my baby bump process.

20 weeks:

Weight: 56.8kg
Went for detail scan too. Confirmed it’s a girl! :)
Baby is normal :)
Paid for package

25 weeks:

Weight; 58.4kg
Nothing much at Dr. Dolly’s clinic. Just scanning and measuring the baby’s limbs to ensure it’s not a dwarf.

Baby 2: 4th prenatal checkup (16weeks)

Went to see our little one today.

I have gained around 2kg!! Omg. My weight is now 53.1kg! But doctor say it’s ok because for the last two checkup I have not gained any weight.

Was told that the blood test that I took last month revealed that I have low iron and vitamin D! Other than that, I’m perfectly fine.

Baby was active during scan and I can tell that doc is trying to figure out the baby gender for us. :P
During the scan:
1. Doctor commented that my placenta is lying low and hopefully it will bring back up.
2. Doctor showed us the baby’s face, eyes, nose, back bone, two legs...
3. At the end, she pointed to us on the screen and said “Here’s the baby’s genital area. As you can see, it’s flat. So there is a 80-90% chance that it is a girl.”.

At the end of the scan, doctor said during 20th week, a detailed anomaly scan will be scheduled which will help to identify any abnormalities, such a cleft lips, missing heart chambers, etc. This scan would be especially helpful since I did not opt to go for OSCAR test.

Here’s my baby bump:

Damages: $250 including a vitamin D, folic acid and DHA supplements.

Next checkup would be on the 24th May :)

Baby 2: 2nd Prenatal checkup (8 weeks)

Appointment was supposed to be on 2 March 2029 but decided at the last min to see Doc Dolly on 27 Feb 2019.

The decision was because I was having diarrhea on the 25 Feb 2019 (on MC) and being having pain in my abdominal area. And then, on the 27 Feb 2019, started having fever, with sore throat and blocked nose. Went to see company doctor and was given 2 days of MC. Doctor said it’s due to the virus infection in my stomach and now pass up to my throat. Doctor even said if pain doesn’t resolve after taking the medication, will need to visit the A&E ASAP. Well, I couldn’t take any of those medication she gave because I didn’t wanted my company doctor to know about my pregnancy and I lied to my company doctor that I just had my menses not long ago.

Since I was on MC, hubby urged me to visit Doc Dolly that very same day to ensure that baby is aright (also because I have been worried about the baby’s size as seen in my last post) Rang up and managed to get a slot at 11am. Hubby also met me at the hospital (Although hubby reached at 10.40pm, but due to the stupid crowded carpark at mount E, Hubby didn’t managed to get a parking lot and ended up I had to see Doc Dolly all alone.)

So, baby has been growing well!! Managed to hear the heartbeat. Doc Dolly said that the heartbeat was strong :D

Baby had also grown from 0.54cm to 1.92 cm. For me, I have lost weight, from 51.6kg to 51.2kg. It must be because of nauseous I was having and also because I was sick.

Told Doc Dolly about the virus infection I had and was glad to know that baby will not be affected by the virus. She also said to take panadol should my fever reached 38 degree Celsius.

Doc Dolly also requested to see me in one month’s time. By then I would be around 11 weeks and she say I have the option to do a OSCAR or Harmony test. She did also said that for my first pregnancy we didn’t opt for any of the test as we are no pro abortion.

After the checkup, told hubby about the OSCAR and Harmony test and he said the last time we didn’t wanted to test because there’s risk of miscarriage. This time Doc Dolly didn’t mention anything about the risk. I think I’ll just have to do my research and discuss further with hubby on whether to proceed for such test.

So here is baby at 8 weeks 3 days:

Baby 2: 1st Prenatal Checkup (6 weeks)

First day of last menses: 23 Dec 2018

Tested pregnant with home pregnancy test: 27 Jan 2019

Made first appointment (16 Feb 19) with Dr Dolly Wee thinking that I am 7 weeks 7 days pregnant (according to app “Flo”) but turned out to be only 6 weeks 2 days pregnant!!

It could be due to the fact that the length of my period is 35 days long. Anyway, Dr Dolly requested to see me in 2 weeks time (2 March 19) to ensure that the baby is growing well. :/

Alittle worried but hope everything turns out fine.

Was prescribed folic avid and Bcomplex.

Baby bump (my weight 51.6kg >.<):

Dr Dolly said to only gain 1kg a month and keep the whole pregnancy weight gain within 10kg. :/

Charges for today: $180
